Mountain navigation is essential for anyone wishing to become more independent in the mountains. Whether you’re going for a hike, climbing, or navigating your way to a crag or scramble. We offer a number of navigation workshops catered to different levels and abilities. You’ll finish this course with the skills and knowledge needed to be more independent, self-sufficient, and confident in navigating all terrain and conditions.
Two Day Intro to Navigation Skills, Snowdonia
Our most popular nav course in Snowdonia is our 2-day intro to navigation course, which gets you started navigating in the mountains and becoming a more independent hill walker.
Two Day Intro to Navigation Skills, Co. Wicklow
This 2-day intro course is based in Co. Wicklow, Ireland and is available on request. We work off both the 1:50,000 and 1:25,000 maps, so you gain excellent experience working with a variety of maps and scales.

Kit
We’ll supply maps and compasses for you to borrow for the course. Please make sure to have the following:
Hiking boots
Waterproofs
Spare warm layers
Sun protection (Hat, shades, SPF…)
A hearty lunch and plenty of water

When he heard we were interested in learning mapping skills he very patiently brought our attention to details on the map and terrain, and like the best of teacher's, he let us try our hand at it.
